Young Adults

The early adult years are far from a stopgap in life, this is a defining season.

At Christ Church, we value the intergenerational make up of the Church and welcome young adults and the valuable addition they make to our parish. Young adults actively participate alongside disciples of all ages in small groups, service, and worship.

We are committed to leading one another to be deeper followers of Jesus and builders of the Kingdom. From camping trips to holiday parties to adventures around Austin, we at Christ Church seek to build authentic community in this unique stage of life.

Whether it's camping excursions, meals after church, park hang outs, or service projects, there are quite a few ways to get connected with our young adult ministry.

For more information, contact michael@christchurchofaustin.org and join our group online to stay up to date via email on events throughout the year.

Young Adult Catechesis & Formation Hour

Sundays beginning January 26
1pm–2pm
Christ Church

The Christ Church Young Adult Catechesis and Formation Hour aims at the formation of the person into the image of Christ, focusing on the embodiment of faith, hope, and love.

What's the Vibe?
The setting is communal and conversational; bring your lunch and feel free to either sit back and listen or jump into the conversation.

Who is this for?
This formation hour is for three types of people:
  1. those who are looking to grow in their relationship with God through theological development and spiritual disciplines;
  2. those who are interested or skeptical, seeking understanding about the foundations of the Christian faith;
  3. those who are preparing for Christian baptism or confirmation in the Anglican Way.
When is it?
The hour is designed for folks to either drop when convenient or to commit for a season. If you're someone who is engaging catechesis to prepare for baptism or confirmation, you may want to commit for a period of 6-12 months. If you're looking to grow in particular spiritual practices or disciplines (like prayer, silence, and solitude; evangelism and witness; or bible study methods) you may choose to attend during Lent, Advent, or Epiphany.
If you're interested in learning more about the concept and history of catechesis, please read the following excerpt from our friends at the Catechesis Institute.
