Dear Christ Church,
It was so good to worship with you last Sunday, and begin reconnecting with staff, Vestry, and congregational life! And thank you for all the warm greetings and the “welcome back” cards from so many of you. If you missed last Sunday, I’d love for you to catch up on some words from the heart that I shared (you can jump straight to it here, from the 1:02:00 to 1:22:00 mark in the service).
This weekend is your last chance to register for Parish Retreat! I’d love to see you there! We are preparing for a fun Parish Retreat next weekend at Highland Lakes Camp in Spicewood (Deadline: Sunday, Oct 23). We have sold out of the lodge rooms but there is plenty of tent camping, bunk-house lodging and RV parking. Saturday-only passes are also available, just a short drive outside of Austin.
Our Core Class begins this Sun, 10/23 between services, and it’s not too late to join us. This 30 minute meeting is an opportunity for you to explore membership at Christ Church, grafting your story and ours. There are three classes to attend between Oct 23rd and Nov 20th, where you’ll learn more about the history, mission, beliefs, values, and ministry of Christ Church in conversation with staff and pastoral leadership, as well as meet other new folks in the church. Taking this class does not obligate you to become a member.
Lastly, one of my favorite Christ Church events is the Newcomers Dinner. If you are new to Christ Church, come join me and some staff and some fellow newcomers for an evening together, November 19th. You can register here to letus know you’re coming!
