Tesoros Bellos

Today’s guest post from Wes Crawford, Worship Pastor

Happy Friday, Christ Church!

For many years we have sent teams of Christ Church parishioners to Guatemala to participate in the ministry of a local mission called Potter’s House. This year’s team has been preparing to go the first week of June.

In order to help our Guatemala team raise funds for the trip, our Faith & Arts ministry has planned an event tomorrow (Saturday) evening called Tesoros Bellos, an evening of inspiring performances, songs, short films, poetry readings, spoken word performance, and other amazing offerings from our very own Christ Church artists.

Tesoros is Spanish for “treasures,” and is it’s what Potter’s House calls the people to whom they minister. Potter’s House specifically serves the communities that have sprung up around the dump in Guatemala City (as well as other economically impoverished areas in the country). Potter’s House refers to them as “tesoros” to highlight their unspeakable worth.

Our Christ Church artists are offering their own gifts, their tesoros, this Saturday (TOMORROW), May 6 at 7pm at 112 Medina Street. Afterward, there will be a reception in the courtyard with snacks and beverages and a chance for you to meet the artists and talk with them.  It’s going to be a beautiful evening and a wonderful opportunity to support both our artists and our team that’s headed to Guatemala this summer.

The event is free, but reserve your spot by visiting the Eventbrite page here. We will accept donations at the event in cash and online – so you don’t even need to stop by the ATM! We can’t wait to see you there!
Peace,
Wes
