SPEAKER DETAILS
Hannah Miller King is a priest, writer, and mother of three. She has served in ministry to people of all ages, most recently as the associate rector of The Vine Anglican Church in Clyde, NC.
She is a contributing writer for Christianity Today and the author of Feasting On Hope: How God Sets A Table in the Wilderness.
Friday Night Parish Family Fun (location change!)
Due to the rain, we'll gather under the large tent in the Christ Church backyard. Come enjoy great food, fellowship, and games as we kick off our retreat weekend!
Gates open at 6pm!
Parking is available in the Christ Church large parking lot, along the street in the neighborhood, and at Terraza's Library (off Cesar Chavez)
Saturday Morning
Church parking options are shown on this map. Families with small children are encouraged to park in the large lot; there is limited accessibility parking in the small lot; and general parking is available along the streets and at Terrazas Library.
Registered Childcare (Parish Hall Check-in)
Preschool (0-5 years): 8:45am–12:00pm
Kid's Quest: 8:50am–12:00pm (K-2 Parish Hall, 3-5 Portable A)
8:30am: Registration opens; breakfast tacos & coffee served
9:00am: Morning Prayer & Worship
9:30am: (session 1) The Eucharistic Life - A life yielded to God is a glorious life, even if it doesn’t look the way we expect. How can we trust this and what does the meal at the center of our worship teach us about it?
10:30am: (session 2) The Table that Makes a Family - We are not saved as individuals but as a people. How should this shape the way we practice our faith and how do we make sense of why community is still so hard?
Saturday Afternoon
12:00pm: Lunch will be provided. (Parents, please pick up your children. Kids need to remain with a parent or guardian.) Spread out around the campus, eat with parishioners, meet new people!
1:30pm: Breakout Session One (kids remain with parent or guardian)
2:45pm: IceCream Floats in the Courtyard

The Theology of the Table in Everyday Life
(Session I only)
We aren’t all priests serving the eucharist, but we are all called to the eucharistic ministry of hospitality. What does it look like to embrace this calling in our homes and neighborhoods? This will be a conversational workshop facilitated by our speaker. All ages welcome.
Story Time with author Meredith Davis

A quiet cool place for families to relax and listen to stories hosted by our own author, who was recently voted Best Local Author by Austin Monthly's Best of ATX awards, Meredith Davis.
Waller Creek Walkabout

Waterloo Greenway is a 1.5-mile park system weaving through the heart of downtown Austin — connecting Lady Bird Lake to the Texas Capitol along Waller Creek. Join Wes for a walking tour of this newly open gem in our neighborhood.

Marionette Puppet Show
(Session I + II)
Our retreat children’s presenter, Chris Cole, will put on a puppet show. He will share about his lifelong interest in storytelling through the art of puppetry and how it helps children's emotions "come alive" as they experience the story together. Chris will help us learn how we can incorporate puppets into times of feasting.
Saturday Evening
Childcare will not be provided, but kids are welcome with parent or guardian accompaniment.
