Upcoming: Men’s Retreat + Mother’s Morning Out

Dear Christ Church,

The Men’s Retreat is coming up soon (May 24-26) and registration is open! Josh Coulter, a member of the retreat planning committee who attended last year’s retreat, has a personal appeal for all the men of Christ Church. For those who attend the men’s retreat and have young children, a donor has generously made it possible for moms to have help with childcare Saturday morning. Read details below.

Men of Christ Church,
I currently have young kids and it feels trickier than ever to make time for friendship as I try my best to honor and give attention to my family, work, and other responsibilities. I also feel the need for connection with other men more acutely. As more and more life has happened, my understanding of community as a vehicle for God’s grace, encouragement, and challenge has sharpened. And I need it even more. But few things in modern life set this up to occur accidentally. I have to very intentionally carve out space for it – and usually at cost to other good things. With the intention of creating time and space to nurture friendship, I want to personally invite you to join me at the Men’s Retreat coming up on May 24-26th.
This retreat weekend is set aside for the men at Christ Church to spend time together in friendship, prayer, worship, rest, and play. It will be meaningful and fun. Think conversations around campfires, worshiping and praying together, and pausing to take solitude time in the Texas Hill Country.
It will also offer the opportunity to get to know others more deeply, whether you are new to Christ Church or have been here for years. If you are unsure of what to expect, feel free to email any questions directly to me, I would love to help! And please introduce yourself – I also would love to get to know you.
If you won’t take my word for it, click below to hear from Dan Alvarez!
I hope to see you there.

In Christ,

Josh Coulter
