COVID Updates

Rev. Cliff WarnerCliffNotes

Dear Christ Church,

Though COVID is still with us, we are thankful that Travis County recently crossed the threshold for Stage 2. It’s been a while since the last update or summary, so I’d like to review our approach and also share with you a generous offer!

Sunday worship remains available in three settings to best serve the various precautionary health needs of our community: (1) live streaming for anyone with COVID-like symptoms or otherwise needing to avoid social proximity for health reasons; (2) outdoor worship in the courtyard; (3) indoor worship, with masks optional. Please note that communion will be offered in the courtyard for those who prefer to remain outside the entire service.

Two new updates: Now that Austin has crossed the threshold for Stage 2, Fr. Matt and I (both vaccinated) will no longer be masked during Sunday worship, and as we serve Communion. If there is another spike we will return to masking. Also, masking will now be optional for all caregivers, volunteers, and children in our nursery and Kids Quest.

Covid-Impact Care Program. A neighboring church, The Austin Stone, has prepared a special program they are extending to Christ Church parishioners! The past 18 months have been uniquely burdensome for those serving marginalized communities in education, healthcare, and non-profit. As a way of caring for those who work in these arenas, the Austin Stone is offering heavily subsidized fitness classes through Camp Gladiator, and access to free or heavily subsidized biblical counseling sessions. If you are interested in learning more or signing up, you can do so by filling out this form.

See you this Sunday for some baptisms in each service!

P.S. Let’s celebrate! We have a record 55 students registered for next weekend’s youth retreat! There is still time to sign up right here.
