Life is Stewardship

Rev. Cliff WarnerCliffNotes

Dear Christ Church,

Life is stewardship. When something of value is entrusted to someone’s care, that person becomes a steward, or trustee. One of the high callings of humanity, created in the image of God, is to serve as stewards of our Creator, Savior, and King. As Christians, we understand that every good and valuable thing comes from God, whether we are talking about influence or affluence, the earth, our time, or our money. He is the owner; we are the trusted managers of all that He has given.

Next Sunday, March 14th, is our Celebration Sunday, an annual day of making our financial pledges to the church. I invite you to begin asking the Lord what it means to steward the finances he has entrusted to you. Together, let’s discern what generous giving looks like for each us, and how He might be leading us to make a financial pledge to His work through Christ Church. In case you missed it, here’s the letter the Vestry and I just sent the parish on this topic. After a time of listening to God (and your spouse, if you are married), please take a moment to complete your pledge card here.

We are back on site! You can register here to worship in person for this Sunday and beyond, and don’t forget that we now have courtyard seating for families and/or anyone who prefers the fresh air! Our building is back in operation after the recent flooding. We are still awaiting some repairs, the return of hot water, and recarpeting, but we are able to open the doors again for worship beginning this Sunday. In our continued effort to make in-person worship as accessible as possible for as many people as possible, we will continue to require masks for those attending worship at 112 Medina St.. Here’s a note about the heart behind this decision.
