A Big Moment

Rev. Cliff WarnerCliffNotes, Communications, Coronavirus

Dear Christ Church,

We are a . . . worshipping missional community. The next few days and weeks offer a major step forward in each these three categories at Christ Church. Let’s take them in reverse order.

Community. To know and be known, to love and be loved, to be and become the glorious image of Christ—for all these things we need each other. The number one way to be part of our community is to join a small group. This Sunday’s service is our small group launch for the year ahead, a time to return to your group or jump in and try one out for the first time (we anticipate a hybrid of both digital and embodied presence together). See below for more information.

Missional. Have you heard of the Alpha Course? This is the most powerful and effective church-based method of the past 30 years for helping seekers explore the Christian faith. We are launching an Alpha Course this fall, fully re-tooled for online engagement. Do you know someone that might be exploring questions of life, meaning, and faith? Boldly ask the Lord to show you someone that He’d like you to invite. You can contact Claire@christchurchofaustin.org with questions.

Worshipping. We are working hard to plan and provide a safe way to physically re-gather for worship in mid-sized services soon. We’ll be giving an overview of our plans this Sunday during the live stream and in the weeks to come. Please pray, and do your part, to keep our Austin Covid numbers low!

P.S. Beginning September 13th we embark on an eleven-week parish focus called “Devoted.” I can’t wait to tell you more about it in the weeks to come!
