Priestly Blessings

Rev. Cliff WarnerCliffNotes, Communications, Coronavirus

Dear Christ Church,

Students, teachers, and administrators are returning to school, while parents are becoming home educators in record numbers, whether by choice or necessity. This year the annual “back-to-school” moment brings a mixture of joy, dread, confusion, and opportunity. It also brings a new, and more personal, twist to our back-to-school blessing.

I invite all students, teachers, administrator, and home educators to sign up for a blessing next week at 112 Medina St. in conjunction with our drive-thru consecration. Bring your kids, their backpacks, yourself . . . and bring your elements—we’ll all celebrate Holy Eucharist together August 30th. This is a vital way of expressing our unity and communion as body of Christ, brought together as the parish of Christ Church. Sign up here to come to the church for a back-to-school blessing and/or consecration of elements by a Christ Church priest.

My brother-in-law, David Taylor, has written some wonderful back-to-school prayers here for our diocese.

Grace and peace,
