Lenten Resources

Rev. Cliff WarnerCliffNotes, Frontpage News

Dear Christ Church,

You were created with a purpose. We invite you to explore ultimate answers to identity, meaning, and purpose through our 2020 Lenten book, The Call by Os Guinness. Each year we suggest a book for everyone to read together during Lent. We’ll have some copies available on Sunday mornings ($5 suggested donation), or you can get it from your bookseller of choice.

Lent begins with Ash Wednesday on February 26th. We’ll have joint Ash Wednesday services at 112 Medina St. with Church of the Cross at 12pm (no childcare) and 7pm (childcare up to age 5).

A group of people from our church have chosen to observe a Lenten fast each Wednesday during Lent (March 4, 11, 18, 25, and April 1, 8), then come together for Evening Prayer at 112 Medina and break the fast with dinner together at a local restaurant. They’re inviting anyone in our parish to join them. See more details here.

On April 3–4 there will be a prayer vigil in which we will pray through the Benedictine Hours beginning Friday evening, culminating in a Healing Prayer service on Saturday evening. More details to come.

Finally, An American Lent is an excellent Lenten devotional for promoting relational healing in our nation through daily readings on racial justice and reconciliation.

Peace, Cliff+
