Dear Christ Church,
Deconstruction Stories. This Sunday is the third and final sermon in our mini-series on ways that we might live with doubt, a deconstruction of what we once believed, yet find a way forward in faith. You can find the sermons on “Deconstruction and Faith” and “Deconstruction and the Bible” here. This Sunday we conclude with “Deconstruction and Sin,” followed by a panel discussion after the 11:00 am service, with some Christ Church theologians and philosophers.
Every Arena Series. This Monday night is the fourth and final evening of the Every Arena series, where we’ve been looking at ways that God is at work through our vocations in every arena of daily life and work. You can catch the first three here, and join us this Monday for “Film, Fiction, and Storytelling” with Angelina Stanford, a popular teacher and host of The Literary Life podcast.
Bishop Todd’s Address to Clergy. Christ Church is a parish of the Diocese of Churches for the Sake of Others, with the Rt. Rev. Todd Hunter as our bishop. Last September, at a retreat for all the clergy of the diocese, Bishop +Todd gave an incredible opening address, so rich, wise, and insightful—it made me thankful to serve under such godly leadership. Here it is. I hope you can set aside 45 minutes to listen and ponder.
As this is the last CliffNotes before Thanksgiving, I want you to know how grateful I am for this Christ Church family, and the joy and privilege of serving as your priest.
