Parish Picnic!

Rev. Cliff WarnerCliffNotes, Frontpage News

Dear Christ Church,

If you are in town this weekend, you won’t want to miss our Memorial Day Picnic, this Sunday after the 2nd service! PoK-e-Jo’s, Bonzo the Clown, face painting, basketball, playground, music, your Christ Church family . . . our whole property will be humming with joy! We just need you and a side—please bring a side dish with enough to share, or a dessert—to make it complete! These moments of parish-wide celebration are highlights of being the family of God, and a great opportunity to bring an unchurched friend. To whom can you extend an invitation today?

Also, this Sunday will be Jodi Wicker’s last as our Small Groups Pastor, though she and Patrick and Sophie will be around through the summer, before they take off for their new pastoral call in England. We’ll get to hear a few words from her as she brings to a close 10.5 remarkable years of faithfully raising up and shepherding leaders who build communities of whole life disciples for the sake of others, and the praise of God’s glory. Thank you, Jodi!

Two Collects for Memorial Day:
O Judge of the nations, we remember before you with grateful hearts the men and women of our country who in the day of decision ventured much for the liberties we now enjoy. Grant that we may not rest until all the people of this land share the benefits of true freedom and gladly accept its disciplines. Amen.

Almighty God our heavenly Father, guide the nations of the world into the way of justice and truth, and establish among them that peace which is the fruit of righteousness, that they may become the kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.

Peace, Cliff+
