A Letter from Fr. Cliff

Today’s post is long-ish, with a personal update from Fr. Cliff. Please read to the end for the full report.

Dear Christ Church,

Happy Eastertide! Spring is in full blossom, the ground a little wetter, temperatures a little warmer, and we can feel the wheel of time turning. In the church office we are preparing the end-of-year gatherings and services; confirmations and graduations; as well as planning the summer months, preparing to say “goodbye” to Jodi Wicker and “hello” to Bill Walker on our staff. I want to update you on the seasons and rhythms of my own life, looking back and ahead at what the next few months will look like.

Since Christine’s accident last year (if you are new to Christ Church, you can catch up on the story here), my first priority has been presence to Christine and our kids. I thank God for the ability and privilege to love them through such a time of crisis, as husband and father.

My next priority has been Christ Church. I have felt the favor and grace of God to stay “in the saddle,” to continue preaching and leading as a shepherd of the flock throughout the past year.  During the first 4-6 months after the accident, it was not only supernatural favor, but also the incredible support of so many of you that allowed me to be present to both home and church. Thank you!
