Dear Christ Church,
I was not raised in the Anglican church, nor was it the place where I first surrendered my life to Jesus, but it has become my family and my home. And like life at home, there are rhythms and practices that make me who I am, and which I look forward to every year. I invite you to “lean in” to two of them.
Introduction to Anglicanism Class (aka “Confirmation Class”). I remember well the moment of my confirmation, on bended knee upon the cathedral’s stone floor. It felt like a “thin place” and time, where the veil between heaven and earth was more permeable, the presence of God more near. I want to invite you to be confirmed at Christ Church on May 12th by Bishop John Mark Zimmerman.
Though that’s far away, the deadline isn’t, because some preparation is required for the class. This class is not only for those considering Confirmation; it also serves as our Introduction to Anglicanism for anyone who just wants to learn more about it. See details below, and check out some of my thoughts here on confirmation and being Anglican.
The Great Litany. Join us this Sunday as we kick off Lent with the Great Litany, a deep-scrub and thorough confession and cleansing of our sins, as the procession weaves among the people, voicing our corporate prayer. Come early so you don’t miss it!
Lastly, if you have not yet submitted your 2019 financial pledge, you can still do so here.
