The various therapists are keeping Christine’s schedule full and her body moving. She walked a mile yesterday, no doubt aided by the new (blue) tennis shoes brought by her kids. Christine’s feet are sore and bruised, particularly the right one, so walking can be painful. She is gaining strength and continues to make progress. The ENT doctor is expected to perform another procedure to address the remains and effects of internal bleeding (which had been extensive) specifically for Christine’s left ear. She slept a little better the past couple of nights and her nighttime caregivers are giving her as much uninterrupted time as possible to allow for longer stretches of sleep. If Christine has time between waking up and her first therapy session, Pray As You Go is a morning devotional favorite. There’s a saying on the wall in her room that she loves and feels inspired by: “It is a serious thing just to be alive on this fresh morning in this broken world”. It was in her room when she was in ICU, but no one knows who put it there.
Please continue to pray:
- For Christine’s pain levels to decrease, and (her words) “for the Lord to give her the story for the day, not the pain”
- For hearing ears, seeing eyes, and a smelling nose
- For the Holy Spirit to guide, protect and administer peace over all that Christine is processing
- For peaceful and restoring sleep and strength for continued healing and recovery
