Dear Christ Church family,
Our deepest gratitude comes from the fact that our King has inaugurated His good and beautiful reign in our lives, and throughout all creation. This Thursday we celebrate Thanksgiving Day and this weekend we celebrate Christ the King Sunday. These two are intimately connected:
Because Jesus is king, we don’t depend on earthly powers for our security and salvation.
Thank you, King Jesus, for being our anchor during turbulent times.
Because Jesus is king, we don’t despair at our life circumstances, or the world’s brokenness.
Thank you, King Jesus, for being our one hope that will never disappoint.
Because Jesus is king, we are set free forever by His royal pardon.
Thank you, King Jesus, that we can walk with a pure conscience and a light heart.
Because Jesus is king, He is worthy of our worship and service.
Thank you, King Jesus, that we can know the wonder of beholding your beauty, and the delight of surrendered service.
Because Jesus is King, we know that he will come again to put all things right.
Thank you, King Jesus, for establishing your justice and renewing the face of the earth.
P.S. It was on Christ the King Sunday two years ago that we planted Church of the Cross. Please join me in thanksgiving for and celebration of this growing kingdom community in Northeast Austin!
