Hodgepodge Friday

Rev. Cliff WarnerCliffNotes, Frontpage News

Dear Christ Church,

Three days and counting to the Memorial Day picnic, with fervent prayers for good weather. This is a picture of the tent going up!

One of the things I love about potlucks and picnics is the chance to all be together at one time and place, regardless of which service or small group we attend. Come out with your friends, family, and a guest that the Lord might be prompting you to invite. This is a great first step for those who don’t know Christ or have a church home. See details below (esp. regarding what to bring) and be sure to check our website first thing Monday morning for a weather/event update.

Our Bishop will be with us this Sunday, preaching and confirming seventeen candidates. He will lay hands upon them with this request: “Defend, O Lord, your servant [name] with your heavenly grace, that s/he may continue yours for ever, and daily increase in your Holy Spirit more and more, until s/he comes to your everlasting kingdom.  Amen.” May these candidates, and all of us, know the daily increase of the empowering presence of the Spirit of God!

One quick staffing update: we are creating a new role “Childcare Coordinator,” to administrate the care of our children for various events, gatherings, and small groups where it’s offered. This will be a part-time role, working in conjunction with our Children’s Ministry Director Bekah Powell, who will continue overseeing our discipleship and outreach to children in a part-time capacity.  If you or someone you know might be a good fit as Childcare Coordinator, please check out the job description.

Peace, Cliff+
