Epic and True

Dear Christ Church Friends,

Forty three days ago, as we gathered for worship, I spoke these words: “I invite you, therefore, in the name of the Church, to the observance of a holy Lent . . ..” And now we gather again for worship, tonight, tomorrow, and Sunday as this Lenten journey culminates in our observance of the epic and true, world-changing story of life conquering death through Jesus of Nazareth. Walk slowly through the Maundy Thursday and Good Friday services, and the Feast of the Resurrection will land with sweetest joy. I hope you can join our worshipping community in each of the following services.

Maundy Thursday—A service that begins in light and progressively darkens, this will be a Tennebrae service with Holy Eucharist, remembering the Last Supper and Jesus’ betrayal (there will not be a foot washing). 7pm at Medina Street.

Good Friday—Reflections by seven individuals on Jesus’ “seven last words” from the cross. Joint service with Church of the Cross, 7pm at Medina Street. We will also open the Medina St. sanctuary for reflection on our Stations of the Cross from 11:30-1:30 and noonday prayer.

The Feast of the Resurrection, Sunday—9am and 11am. To whom can you extend a bold invitation?
