Summer Conversations

Dear Christ Church,

What are some of your most memorable conversations?

Maybe a recent series of text messages that made you laugh out loud? Or a coffee shop conversationthat made you see something differently? I remember falling for Sarah during a long and delightfulconversation on a road trip to New Orleans. Some conversations you never forget!

I believe Jesus wants to have some memorable conversations with us this summer. Conversations thatdelight us, challenge us, comfort us, and even transform us.

I know that’s appealing to me. And I bet it is for you too. Yet, we all know the secret to having a richprayer-life isn’t just wanting to have one. Personal desire helps. But, so does being among a communitythat has committed together to seeking the Lord in prayer.

Christ Church, this summer let’s encourage one another toward prayer! Let us draw near to the Onewho has drawn near to us. Here are some special paths for prayer:

Sunday Prayer. We’ll have extra prayer teams available during communion throughout the summer. Bring a request or simply come to be prayed over.

Daily Prayer Guide. If you got this email, every weekday this summer you’ll receive a guide for prayer. This is a great way for us to spend a few minutes praying together every morning even when we can’t bein the same space.

Summer Reading. Pick up a copy of Tozer’s The Pursuit of God and let this devotional classic reawakenyour thirst to meet with God in prayer. Copies will be on sale for $5 after services on June 12 and June19th.

Community Prayer. Look for opportunities to gather together for prayer, including Compline the firstSunday of July and August and a special Vigil July 15-16th .

My prayer for Christ Church this summer is that each of us would have a fresh and unforgettableconversation with the one who made our ears and gave us words and called us to himself.

Warmly,
Drew
