Staff Updates

Rev. Cliff WarnerCliffNotes

Dear Christ Church,

What a great staff team we have at Christ Church! I often marvel at the goodness of God in His assembly of godly and servant-hearted leaders on our staff, who love God, His people and each other so well. Here are a few updates on our team.

I am very grateful to announce that beginning next Monday Meghan Scully will be my part-time administrative assistant. Most of you know Meghan and her husband Matt and their two kids because of her service as Vestry member, Senior Warden, on our Mission Team, and their engagement in many other areas of community life. She brings an excellent understanding of how Christ Church works and a deep love for our parish. Welcome, Meghan!

As Fr. Peter is sent out to plant Church of the Cross, we will have a staff vacancy for Associate Rector, which will be posted in the next month. This position could take anywhere from a few months to a year to fill, since we are more concerned with finding the right person than with speed, and candidate availability can affect timing. And let me take this opportunity to say again what a privilege it has been to work so closely with Fr. Peter. While I trust God’s goodness and provision ahead, I will miss Fr. Peter greatly. Please join me in prayer for the search process, as God prepares our hearts and the candidate’s for partnership in the gospel.

The rest of our team is now in full tilt and excited for the fall and beyond, the first full (church/academic calendar) year for Bekah Powell, who became our Director of Children’s Ministries last spring, and Bryan Brown, who became full-time last spring to lead us not only in worship, but also in communications and the integration of faith, vocation and culture. Brian Murphy, as Executive Pastor, continues to lead our operations with a skilled hand and a big heart. Jodi Wicker carries the banner for the vitality of our small groups and their leaders. Sarah Smith enters the second of her two-year pastoral internship. And Debi and Laura keep us all sane with their gifts of administration and hospitality.

Christ Church, you have a fantastic staff team!
