A Word from our Senior Warden

Rev. Cliff WarnerCliffNotes

This week’s CliffNotes is written by Meghan Scully, Senior Warden.

Dear Christ Church,

We are starting this year off with a bang! I want to introduce you to our new Vestry candidates, but first a word about our potential new home. You do not want to miss the opportunities to tour the property we have under contract and to ask all the questions you want! And you don’t want to miss the Capital Campaign Vision Meeting either, a kickoff to an extraordinary season in the life of our church. We want you to be as informed as possible before we have a congregational vote for the property in between services from 10:15-10:45 a.m. on Sunday, January 18th.

Please, come!

In addition to the parish vote for the property on Sunday, January 18th, we will also vote on the candidates our Vestry recommends for our 2015 Vestry! It is with great pleasure that I get to announce our new Vestry candidates for a three-year term: Evelyn Beauchamp, MikeMurphy and Paula Wendling. In years past, we’ve rotated two Vestry members off and added two on. Because Christ Church has experienced significant growth over the past few years, we prayerfully and thoughtfully decided to add three candidates to this year’s rotation to allow for greater representation of our parish. They each have been servant-leaders in our community for anumber of years, and the Vestry is confident they will be excellent additions to this leadership team, not only because of their wisdom and expertise that will help guide Christ Church, but because oftheir own faithful dependence upon and love for Jesus.
In transition, both Sheri Tolliver and I are rotating offtheVestryhavingcompletedourthree-year terms. How quickly timepasses! Thank you for the incrediblehonor entrusted to us to serve.

Ultimately, your Vestry desires to hear and know the will of God for Christ Church, to follow Him obediently and joyfully in the ways that He leads, and to do so blanketed by a unity and trust graciously given by the Holy Spirit. But also there resides out of our service a deep affection for you, Christ Church. We see your work produced by faith. We see your labor prompted by love. And we see your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. We always thank God for you.

Will you join me in praying for the Vestry team, for the Lord to grant them wisdom, unity and joy in their service? We stand in awe of a God who has been, and will continue to be, faithful.

May the Lord make our love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else.

Affectionately,
Meghan
