The Gift of Service

Rev. Cliff WarnerCliffNotes

This week’s CliffNotes is a guest post by Brian Murphy, Executive Pastor.
Dear Christ Church,

I am so grateful for all of the beautifully dedicated men and women who serve at Christ Church week in and week out. It is because of this team effort that we can offer hospitality, love and truth to the people who come through our doors each Sunday and throughout the week.

A specific set of ministries help make our Sunday services so special. First-Serve Ministries include those teams who work behind the scenes to set the altar, offer coffee and bagels, welcome visitors and do much more. We will be spending a couple of minutes this Sunday discussing ways that you can be a part of this important work. In the meantime, you can find out more about our First-Serve Ministries here.

I am passionate about encouraging God’s people to serve because I’ve learned three life-changing truths. One, when we serve our hearts realign to the servant-heart of Christ. Two, serving on a team connects us to the local church and gives us a chance to learn from others. Three, the faithful people who regularly serve at a church are encouraged and energized when new people join the team.

Another reason to consider helping out these teams is because every First-Serve Ministry is short-handed. We need your help.

If you have recently decided to make Christ Church your home or if you are not currently serving on a Sunday morning team, I invite you to consider joining one of our First-Serve Ministries. To volunteer simply click the link above and follow the simple instructions located on the brochure.

For those of you who are currently serving on Sunday mornings and throughout the week, we all thank you. Your service is a gift to the rest of us.

Peace,
Brian
