The Incomparable Christ

Rev. Cliff WarnerCliffNotes

Dear Christ Church,

Regardless of what anyone may personally think or believe about him, Jesus of Nazareth has been the dominant figure in the history of western culture for almost twenty centuries.” These are the words of the Jaroslav Pelikan in his classic book Jesus Through the Centuries. Now, 25 years after its publication and in light of the explosion of church growth in other parts of the world, he might add that Jesus is also becoming the most dominant figure in the future of non-western culture.

Paul, writing from prison, foresees this when he wrote to the church in Colossae, “For by him all things were created . . . and he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.”

Join us this Sunday as we are reminded from Colossians of our deepest loyalty and first love, in whom we are held together, the incomparable Christ.
