What do donkeys, trees and tears have in common? They are all featured elements of Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem, the week before his crucifixion. The donkeybore him, the palm branches waved before him and the tears flowed from him as the King of Glory entered the city. This Sunday is Palm Sunday, when we join the worshipping throngs, palm branches and all and then, in Readers’ Theatre fashion, recount the Passion of our Lord. May we each be gripped by the glorious gospel as we enter Holy Week.
Who do you know that has never been gripped by the gospel or has no church home? Let’s be praying about whom to invite on Easter Sunday!
PS You might want to arrive a few minutes early this Sunday to get your palm branch and be ready to wave them wildly!
