It is my privilege to announce our new Vestry members: Eric Kaufman and Blake Mathews, both of whom have been servant-leaders in our community for several years, not only in formal roles like small group leadership, but also in many unseen ways. They begin at three-year term this month. In this transition, I also want to express deepest gratitude to those who have completed their term, Ann Cushman and Scott Friesen, Senior Warden. They have seen Christ Church through significant growth and change with godly counsel and the right skills “for such a time as this.” Thank you Scott and Ann!
I have a few great links for you to check out today, related to the people of our parish.
Check out this wonderful piece on the experience of Anglican confirmation by Tamara Murphy, at her blog “This Sacramental Life”.
And you can read here what World Magazine has to say about Christ Church’s SXSW interactive art installation on 6th Street: The Wall Project. I love the way this partnership with Hope Chapel engages SXSW and the creative community of our city! You can also follow the daily postings at this site, created for you to track what’s happening.
Today is my birthday, and my anniversary is in two weeks! I am grateful for another year of life and grace, of knowing Jesus, of knowing and being known by you, growing and stepping out together in mission, of the gift of fatherhood to four full-of-life children and of marriage to the most remarkable woman in the world.
