Ordination and Confirmation

Rev. Cliff WarnerCliffNotes

There is much to communicate, as the year winds down. Please take a moment to stay abreast of all the items below.

I am thrilled to announce the ordination of Peter Coelho to the priesthood, February 17! It has been a delight to work with Peter since he joined our staff 14 months ago. His gifts and calling for ministry are clear and abundant; you’ve probably witnessed that yourself through his pastoral sensitivity, thoughtful teaching, love for God’s people and his humility and grace. We will affirm and celebrate his calling together in the context of Sunday worship at 11am Sunday February 17, when Bishop Todd Hunter will join us to ordain Peter.

At the 9am service, that same Sunday, we will have a Confirmation service for all who would like to take this next step of commitment and participation in God’s global church.

Who can be confirmed?
Anyone who has takes the course on Anglicanism, offered in January (see below). If you have completed a comparable form of preparation that might substitute for the above, please contact me.

Four reasons to be confirmed:

  1. To get connected. Join the global and historic body of Christ, through the Anglican Communion, and be identified with something larger than ourselves. The Anglican Communion is a rich global mosaic, comprised of many tribes, tongues and nations, a church exploding with new life in many areas of the world.
  2. To be blessed. Receive the laying on of hands from Bishop Hunter and a prayer for the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in your life. Since the early church, leaders were commissioned for ministry by the laying on of hands, one generation to the next, all the way down to our Bishop, and then to you.
  3. To confirm baptismal vows. If you were baptized as an infant, this is an opportunity to present yourself publicly and voluntarily, as a follower of Christ in the company of his people.
  4. To invite unchurched friends. Ask them to come witness this special day in your life.

If you would like to be confirmed please use this form to advise the office by February 1. And don’t forget to sign up for the Anglicanism course that begins January 20!

Who can you invite to our Christmas Eve Service? Here’s an invitation to send them electronically.

Lastly, please note that there will be only one service, 10:30am on Sunday, December 30 .

Peace on Earth,
