If you love art, beauty or God, you won’t want to miss this opportunity to grow in your understanding of all of the above. Christ Church is sponsoring an Artist Weekend, July 14-15, with author, blogger, speaker and theologian David Taylor. You can read his blog here and pick up a copy of the book he recently edited, For the Beauty of the Church, to get a sense of his calling. He has also written for Books & Culture, Christianity Today, Q, and The Living Church.
Saturday morning, in a session especially (but not exclusively) for artists, David will explore the formation of four virtues and their role in the creative life. This event requires registration and only costs $20.,
Sunday morning he will preach in both services on the importance of our physical bodies in corporate worship.
Sunday evening he will give a public talk on The Reconstructive Power of Beauty. This event, though free, also requires registration, and would be a great opportunity to invite an unchurched friend to thoughtful dialogue on the intersection of faith and culture.,
You can find all the details in this brochure. Don’t hesitate; space is limited and after priority is given to the Christ Church family, this will be open to anyone in the city.
For the beauty of His name,
