In case you missed last Sunday, I gave an update on the status of our mission at Christ Church, under three headings: passion, place and people. When I spoke about our passion (the unique vision God has for Christ Church) I gave the following list of traits that help us to understand how God wants to use us in this city: hospitality and welcome, generous with time and resources, mission oriented, healing the broken and raising people up to maturity in Christ, engaged with faith and culture, intergenerational. Please pray for the team as we complete the process this summer.
As for place, we have outgrown the facility in our second Sunday service. Rather than relocate, we will broaden the first service to include Kids Quest and a worship style/format similar to the second service, so that by mid-summer you can choose your service based simply on your preference of time, 9am or 11am. This will be a great new opportunity for families to have more of their Sunday available, after attending the first service. Please pray for Michele and the Kids Quest team, as they make this significant transition doubling their ministry.
And now the people: I announced the very exciting news that we have begun the search process for two new positions on staff: a director of operations and an associate priest. Please be praying for God to bring the right additions to our team, in terms of chemistry, character and competence.
Lastly, we will be taking up a special offering to support our team of twenty people going to Guatemala on mission this June. Please consider how you might be able contribute to this beautiful work of the kingdom of God.
So that no one may stand alone!
