There’s a video I want you to see. Many of you don’t know much of our story; before Christine and I came to Austin to pastor Christ Church we lived in El Paso, Texas where a big part of our purpose at the Church of St. Clement was to help the church become a more incarnational presence in the church’s neighborhood. It’s a neighborhood with very high poverty rates, very poor primary schools, and all the social ills common to urban centers around the country, compounded by the complexity of border dynamis.
I founded an inner-city ministry called Ciudad Nueva to address these issues and just yesterday came across a couple of links that demonstrate how the people of God at St. Clement’s have embraced this ministry, and the impact they are having. Ciudad Nueva was recently added to Christ Church’s list of mission partners!
Here’s the link to the Ciudad Nueva video. Check it out.
Here’s another link and resource I’d like you to know about. This is the website behind a movement of North American Anglicans to plant 1000 churches. There are three things on the home page that you might like to do: 1] read the featured story of Ciudad Nueva and St. Clement’s; 2] learn about the Anglican1000 churchplanting effort in general; 3] subcribe to the email newsletter.
See you at the Hoedown Saturday night . . . get on your boots!
