How the Spirit Works

Rev. Cliff WarnerCliffNotes

;The Church is looking for better methods; God is looking for better men. The Holy [Spirit] . . . does not flow through methods, but through men. He does not come on machinery, but on men. He does not anoint plans, but men…Men of prayer.” –E. M. Bounds

The Holy Spirit does not flow through better methods, is not poured out on programs, nor anoints plans. God pours out his power on His people, the body of Christ, men and women of prayer. In our staff meeting this week we prayed for many of you, and for this body as a whole, and the Lord led me into prayer for the untamed and uncontrollable Spirit of God to blow through us, even to bring revival. We are often on our knees as individuals, but when do we gather as a body to lift one voice in extended prayer and worship?

This Sunday evening! Please join us for a Concert of Prayer at 5:30 (see details below). These are truly some of the sweetest, most powerful times we have with the Lord, listening, worshipping, praying, receiving from God and interceding for the city. This is a wonderful thing to do as a family (childcare available for the little ones, rsvp required).

I leave you with one more quote: “Let the fires go out in the boiler room of the church and the place will still look smart and clean, but it will be cold. The Prayer Room is the boiler room for its spiritual life.” –Leonard Ravenhill
