Greetings from Winter Conference of the Anglican Mission in the Americas. I am here with Anglican men and women from around the country, and from Rwanda, who share a burden for the unreached people of our nation.Last night was the first address from Archbishop Rwaje, newly elected to give pastoral oversight to the Province of Rwanda. He kicked off the conference with the theme of our gathering, “Jesus: the Heart of the Mission.”
We never get beyond Jesus, he reminded us.When we are planting new churches, Jesus is at the center. When we are growing churches and making disciples, Jesus is at the center. When we step out in mission, we are sent by Jesus (“as the Father sent me, so I send you”).He is not only the sender, but the very message we proclaim.Archbishop Rwaje brought us back to Jesus as the way, the truth and the life.
It’s so encouraging to hear about the vital gospel witness of Anglicans, people and parishes like you, all over North America. We join together herefor high worship, excellent teaching, ministry training, intercessory prayer, church “business” and precious time with friends and colleagues, new and old, lay leaders and ministers.Next year’s Winter Conference will be in January in Houston.Pencil it in!
Lastly, be sure to check the first two announcements below, times for fellowship, fun, worship and prayer!
