What’s your story? As you look back over your life, can you see the pattern of God’s sovereign love? Can you see how he has relentlessly and lovingly pursued you, rescued you, forgiven you, called you, shaped you and sent you?
I’ve been in a small group of some form for the past 25 years, many of which I’ve led. One of the greatest gifts I’ve received in those groups is the opportunity to hear people’s story, to hear how God takes the pieces of our lives, both the beautiful and the busted, and shapes us by his love and for His purposes. I need to be told and retold the gospel. I need to be reminded daily of the fact that the pain and sorrow, death and decay of this world is not the end of the story. It’s all part of a much bigger story, the great narrative of God’s restoration of all things, as I preached last Sunday. As a son or daughter of God, when you tell your story, you are telling the gospel of God’s redemptive love.
What if we all spent some time reflecting on and sharing our stories? There is a tool attached below that will help you do that. Why don’t you take some time to complete it and share it with your spouse, a friend or perhaps your small group?
