Tell the Story

Rev. Cliff WarnerCliffNotes

What’s your story? Every one of us has a unique story, a background and a foreground, a place and a people that have shaped us. As a pastor, I have the privilege of a front row seat in the arena of lives changed by God’s sovereign love. Your stories build faith and glorify God.

This Sunday we will all gather for one service (10:30am) and hear testimonies of the sovereign love of God in your lives in 2010. How has God met you in the past year? How has he shown himself through provision, faithfulness, healing, deliverance or forgiveness? How has Jesus met you through his people? How has he used Christ Church in your life in 2010?

Please consider whether there is some way you might like to testify to the goodness of the Lord this Sunday. In order to hear from as many people as possible, you will need to limit your story to just a couple of minutes. We did this last year, at the end of 2009, and it remains one of my most memorable Sundays as a pastor.

A peek ahead: this is the first of a 3-week series called “Tell the Story,” in which we will become familiar, on the one hand, with the Big Story of God in this world, as revealed in Holy Scripture. On the other hand, we will revisit our own particular stories, and their place within God’s Story.

Happy New Year!
Cliff
