I’m writing to you from Greensboro, NC, site of the 10th Annual Winter Conference of our national extended church family, the Anglican Mission in the Americas. Christine and I, with Nancy Scammacca and four other Christ Church households have come to worship, learn and connect with other creative missions and churches. Last night (Wednesday) we worshiped deeply in the opening service, where we heard from the Archbishop of Rwanda, Emmanuel Kolini. All the clergy renewed our vows to proclaim the gospel, administer the sacraments and uphold the historic and biblical faith in our ministry. Archbishop Kolini reminded us that our mission is no smaller than sharing the gospel with every last person in America and the world.
For the next two mornings, Nancy and I will be sending you a recap of the previous day with highlights, reflections and possibly a video link each day. Today’s video includes shots from the clergy procession, Archbishop Kolini’s sermon and our corporate worship. It’s such a blessing to be connected with these godly men and women from Rwanda, Asia and around the world. This is the mosaic of our Anglican Communion and, indeed, the kingdom of God. For a great book to learn more about our global Anglican connections, especially to Rwanda, see Never Silent, by The Rt. Rev. Thad Barnum.
Looking forward to worship with you at the TexFed this Sunday!
